Mandalas are the pages where a colour plan pays off. Decide on three or four colours before you start the first ring, or the outer third tends to turn into whatever is nearest.

Work from the centre out and turn the paper rather than your hand. It keeps the pressure even, which on a symmetrical design is immediately visible when it is not.
