These are word pages: a phrase set large in the middle of the sheet, with the decoration built around it. Some are open hand-lettered outline you colour inside; others set white letters against a dense floral ground, so the colouring happens around the words rather than in them.

Every page in these books has been read, word by word. Twenty-three pages were pulled from this category for mangled or misspelt lettering, and a seventh collection was withdrawn altogether when a third of it turned out to carry broken scripture. What is left is only what reads correctly — which on a page whose whole content is a sentence is the only standard worth having.

The dense-background books use a large solid black lettering block. It is the heaviest ink on the site, and it is worth a test page before a long print run.

The open-outline books are the opposite: mostly white, quick to finish, and the ones to print if you want something to put on a wall by the end of the evening.
